CONNECTION

Age Concern Hawke’s Bay delivers a range of Social Connection groups and activities that aim to reduce isolation among older people and strengthen communities through increasing participation and engagement. 

Our activities are available to those 65 and over living independently and are delivered at a variety of venues. While most activities are free to attend, we are always grateful for a koha (donation). To learn more about attending our groups please contact your local office, bookings are essential.

Hastings

  • Tuesday

    Lunch & Games

    Come join us every Tuesday for lunch and games. Light lunch served at 12pm followed by games and cards from 1pm-2:30pm. It’s also a great way to stay connected with friends and meet new people.


    When: Weekly on Tuesdays from 12.00pm – 2.30pm

    Korero Club

    A conversation group for people with Aphasia, this is a collaboration with Aphasia NZ and is facilitated by a Speech Language Therapist.


    When: Fortnightly on Tuesdays from 10.00am – 12.00pm

  • Wednesday

    Members Outing

    A monthly trip to a variety of locations across Hawke’s Bay including stopping for lunch. Van transport is available, or you can take your own vehicle.


    When: Last Wednesday of the Month

    Where: Meet at Age Concern Hastings 

    Cost: $5 Transport and Lunch costs



  • Thursday

    Nourished for Nil


    When: Weekly on Thursdays from 9.30am

    Where: Transport provided to Nourished for Nil for those unable to drive. 

    Cost: FREE

    Join us for a day of activity and companionship. The day offers speaker, craft, quizzes, games and more! With every week having something different to offer.


    When: Weekly on Fridays from 10.00am – 2.30pm

    Playing different card games
